Scholarship Opportunities

The Qatar Foundation International recently announced two exciting scholarship opportunities for students involved in their programs.

1) The 2013 Qatar Foundation International EducationF Awards

These awards are offered to graduating high school students who will be continuing the study of Arabic or majoring in areas with a Middle Eastern and North Africa (MENA) region focus at the undergraduate level.

Last year QFI was able to support seven outstanding students from across QFI’s Global School Network.  This year we are happy to present the same opportunity to students who have enrolled in Arabic and/or have participated in a program with Qatar Foundation International. The applicants for the Education Award intend to major in an area with a Middle Eastern and North Africa (MENA) regional focus and/or Arabic language.

Qatar Foundation International Education Awards are intended for students who can demonstrate unmet financial need. Additional information including application guidelines and required documents can be found in the Education Awards Application Packet distributed on January 30th, 2013. All application materials must be submitted by April 30th 2013 by midnight PST.

Any questions about the Education Awards can be directed to Charles Reaume at creaume [at] qfi [dot] org.

2) QFI Community Service Grants

These grants are for students within the QFI Global Schools Network who wish to implement a community service project in their community.

We want to support the most creative ideas that show commitment to youth in their communities.  QFI believes that small actions can cause big changes and we want to support projects by individuals for a maximum of $2,000 each and for group projects up to $10,000.

Student project will require an adult mentor. In the past, students have chosen teachers or administrators to oversee their project.

The applications will be open on January 30th, 2013 when we are going to send you more detailed information packets. They will also be available on QFI’s social platform YALLAH and on QFI’s website (www.qfi.org).

Applications will be due on March 30th 2013 at midnight PST.

Please let your Arabic teacher know if you are interested in applying.
