Event: “Conversations With Terrorists”

What does the word “terrorist” mean, exactly? If you’ve ever pondered this question, then come hear investigative journalist Reese Erlich discuss his book Conversations With Terrorists, in which he “questions how the U.S. has dealt with terrorist threats since 2001, suggesting that by ‘labeling all opponents as terrorists,’ the government has ‘from a practical perspective… rendered the term ‘terrorism’ meaningless,'” according to Publisher’s Weekly.

Erlich will speak at Portland State University this Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Multicultural Center, room 228, Smith Memorial Student Union, 1825 SW Broadway. The event is free and open to the public.

Arabic students, you can receive extra credit for attending this event and writing about it in accordance with the extra credit guidelines.
