Christmas in the Middle East

On the last day of school before winter break, we sang along to the chorus of Fairuz’s “Laylat Eid”, which she sings to the tune of Jingle Bells:

Fairuz–one of the most popular and legendary singers in the Middle East–has an entire CD of Christmas songs; it’s a CD you’ll likely hear being played in Christian areas of the Arab world around Christmas time.
